About Me

Welcome! My name is Siena Maislin. I am a third year student at the University of Rochester studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Astronomy. I am the president of Tau Beta Pi engineering honors society, I have a 3.93 GPA, and I’ve been on the Dean’s List for four of five semesters. I’m originally from the Boston area, and now enjoying life in Rochester.

I recently completed my seven month robotics engineering co-op at Gorbel, and I spend a lot of time in the Baja machine shop on campus. I enjoy working with my hands, building, testing, and prototyping. I have more than two years of experience with hands-on engineering design, programming, and manufacturing.

The core of my professional identity is my ability to work with people. At Baja, I’ve grown the data acquisition from a solo effort (me) to a group of nine dedicated engineers. I lead weekly meetings, hold office hours, and have successfully delegated six projects. At Gorbel, I’ve had the chance to work with three full-time engineers, two technicians, and another co-op. I also have five years of experience teaching and tutoring. My practiced communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills are what set me apart from other engineers.

In my free time, I enjoy playing cello, scrapbooking, and cooking with my roommates.
