About Me

Welcome! My name is Siena Maislin. I am a third year student at the University of Rochester studying Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Astronomy. I am the president of Tau Beta Pi engineering honors society, I have a 3.93 GPA, and I’ve been on the Dean’s List for five of six semesters. I’m originally from the Boston area, and now enjoying life in Rochester.

I enjoy working with my hands, and I have more than three years of experience with hands-on engineering design, programming, and manufacturing. This year I completed an internship with Relativity Space on the Vehicle Integration and Test team. Last year, I worked as a robotics engineering co-op at Gorbel. I’ve spent almost every weekend since freshman spring in the Baja machine shop on campus.

The core of my professional identity is my ability to work with people. At Relativity, I had daily communication with design engineers, supply, quality, technicians. At Baja, I grew the data acquisition from a solo effort (me) to a group of thirteen dedicated engineers. At Gorbel, I worked with three full-time engineers, two technicians, and another co-op student. I also have five years of experience teaching and tutoring. My practiced communication, conflict resolution, and leadership skills are what set me apart from other engineers.

In my free time, I enjoy playing cello, improv, scrapbooking, and cooking with my roommates.
